Welcome to Almond Branch Ministries
"What seeth thou, Jeremiah?"
"I see the branch of an almond tree."
"Thou hast seen correctly. For I will hasten my Word to perform it."
In this vision of the almond branch, the Lord uses a play on words to highlight his purposes. The fruit is almond. In the Hebrew it is shaqed. Jeremiah sees a "shaqed" branch. The word translates "awakening." I see the branch of the "awakening" tree. Literally, "the hurry up" tree.
The almond tree is a symbol of resurrection. Aaron's rod that budded, flowered and produced fruit was an almond branch. It was placed in the Ark of the Covenant (itself a symbol of Jesus), who is the first fruit from the dead and the Resurrection. The almond tree awakens out of its winter sleep early. It blossoms in late January long before all the other trees. It comes to life in the dead of winter, appearing to "hurry up" and flower.
The second main word is "hasten" in the King James Version. In the Hebrew, it is shoqed, and sounds like shaqed. It means to "awaken," or as in the KJV, to hasten. The Lord says to Jeremiah, "What do you see?" Jeremiah literally says, "I see the branch of the 'awakening tree' or 'hurry up tree.'" The Lord replies, "You have seen correctly, for I will awaken, or hurry up, my Word to perform it."
The promises of God and the Word of the Lord have gone forth, yet seemed asleep in the long winter of the soul; God promises to awaken and hurry it to perform it.
The Word of the Lord is sure! Now is the time of resurrection and second chances. The Lord will not wait till spring. The Lord is "watching" and will awaken His prophetic Word to perform it. It is now time to "awaken out of sleep" and see the fulfillment and performing of the Words that God gave a long time ago. The vision and dreams that fell asleep in that winter of the time will now "spring forth." Though all around it may still look like that same winter; yet God says He is watching over that Word to hurry up and perform it!
Almond Branch Ministries is proclaiming that Word. Prophesying to the dry bones; prophesying to the wind to come forth; calling on that "sleeping word" given to the people of God by the Lord to come forth now. Prepare the way of the Lord! He is coming to His church. He will come suddenly to His temple. Awake, oh Word of the Lord!
